TENANTED by E. FETIDAS
Sound Installation
Part of *Artsemester"
Umprum, Prague 2021

The installation Tenanted by E. fetidas shows a model of a fictive organic system in which a group of invasive worm species make their way to occupy symbols of culture.
This degradable structure, offering a shelter to the worms, draws on a hybrid relation and negotiates the border between nature and culture.
The soundscape layered upon the installation is a field recording, taken from the depths of the worm’s habitat and amplifies their
- for us - not understandable way of movement and communication.
I want to highlight their embedded metaphorical presence, unseen existence and in general important activity on which we and all other organisms depend on.
materials: paper pulp, y-tong, flour, glue
Thanks to Alois Yang, who helped me recording the worms <3
